What is the Future of Wireless Communications?

Exchange information on advances in mobile communications and wireless networking technology, management, applications, and security in a very pleasant Southern California conference environment with leaders and experts from industry, governmental agencies, and universities around the world at the Fourth Annual Wireless Telecommunications Symposium.

WTS 2005 will focus on Next Generation Wireless Communications. Planned highlights of WTS 2005 include an address by mobile computing and wireless data pioneer and author Andrew Seybold; an Executive Session with key executives from organizations including Lucent Technologies, Nortel Networks, the U.S. Department of Defense's Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), MITRE, Ericsson, and NTT DoCoMo USA; presentations of accepted academic and practitioner applied research papers; panel discussions, including Future Directions in Wireless Communications Research; Wireless Security - Best Practices and Lessons Learned; and Mobile Wireless Services and Business: Current Issues with representatives from Lucent - Bell Laboratories, QUALCOMM, Nokia, SBC Communications Laboratories, Cingular Wireless, Nextel, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile USA, Broadcom, and PriceWaterhouseCoopers; tutorials and workshops; a poster paper session; a doctoral students session; a Welcoming Reception with an IEEE Communications Society Lecturer; and a reception at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel® followed by a visit to Disneyland®.

Refereed proceedings will be published by the IEEE and be available on its Xplore online publication system. A CD containing the invited speakers' presentations and accepted applied research papers will be distributed to registrants at the conference. Applicable student papers are welcome. Awards will be given for the outstanding undergraduate and graduate papers submitted.

The room block cutoff date for lodging at Kellogg West Conference Center is April 6, 2005. Room availability will not be guaranteed at Kellogg West after that date.
